Dehere gone

It seems he has died from a heart attack. He was a helluva 2-year-old and a solid sire. RIP Dehere

Without being too cynical, it seems that Coolmore has finally succeeded in bringing about his demise in some far away place.
I personally loved the horse not only for his pedigree but for his stunning rallies in races in which he appeared to be hopelessly beaten. He possessed a turn of foot rarely seen for a dirt horse, and was praised by one of my all time favorite jockeys, Chris McCarron, as the fastest two year old he ever rode.
Fortunately, I was able to get two lovely allowance winning fillies out of a mare whose damside directly produced two Hall of Fame horses from him during his brief return to the States a half dozen years ago. I'm now waiting to select the right Unbridled's Song son to mate with them.
The talented ones will give you an early hint.
