What are your thoughts on him? Good, bad, anyone have a chance to see him in the flesh? Have to decide asap as my mare should be ready for the beginning of the season. Thanks!

Atreides could turn out to be a good sire. Interesting pedigree.

hi guys...

Very fast sprinter, but never really faced much quality in his 5 lifetime starts, which (by the way) spanned less than 5 months.

Beat ordinary ones going a mile in two small stakes. ($50k purse, 1:37 1/5; 75k purse, 1:36 2/5)

1:08 3/5 when he broke his maiden at first asking (all be it July of his 3-year-old year) was brilliant...coupled with a gaudy win by 17 against ordinary company in 1:36 and change going a mile, captured some imagination. On the flip side though, he had his @*s handed to him the one time ever he ran in a graded race (in Indiana no less)...where he went off the prohibitive favorite, but finished next to last (6th in a 7 horse field)...beaten by more than 10 widening lengths (going a mile and a sixteenth)...Ouch !!! The DRF comment ... "failed to respond."

His whole 5 race career spanned less than 5 months. How do you spell unsound...unsound...unsound ?

Ever wonder why he was not in New York?

Buyer beware.

Have to agree with FOS. Sometimes nice pedigrees are over-rated. Don't like him one bit, don't think we should be breeding horses like that.

I think it would be really interesting to see how many stallions have retired from soundness issues and gone on to be a success. Playing devils advocate how many stallions have bled as racehorses? A hereditary trait for sure but is unsoundness? Interesting topic.
Funny enough from recent memory alone Hill N Dale stood three others that showed brilliance in their careers but retired early due to unsoundness or injury - Vindication, Violence, Maclean's Music. Obviously two are still unproven.
