Green Desert looks wonderful

This week we visited Shadwell Stud in England and saw Green Desert. At 32 years old he looks much younger. He lives in happy retirement in a huge paddock. Sorry no picture, forgot the camera.

You are lucky to have seen him, though.

Well, we were also able to touch him and the other horses. At the National Stud and at Banstead Manor Stud (Frankel) no visitor is allowed to touch any horse.

At first it didn't start well.. due to these troubles at the French coast (Calais) where all those futitives go for a run to England, a lot of lorries went to Harwich to avoid this matter. On this monday morning three lorries were involved in a terrible road incident and when you know that normally it takes 1 1/2 hour to go to Newmarket, it took us 5 hours....But we enjoyed the trainng at Newmarket gallops, you can't imagine so many horses. They told us that when Frankel trained it was crowded with people, It must have been wonderful. I saw many trainers, and all those girls and boys involved in racing showing so much love for their horses just great. The weather was terrible though, wet, misty, windy, didn''t matter, I enjoyed it.

Seems I was just in time, it sure went fast. R.I.P., you had a long and happy time at Nunnery Stud.

This is faith. Today at Longchamp Cloth of Stars won the Prix des Chenes a
GR 3. He is a 2yo by Sea the Stars (by Cape Cross, by Green Desert). Green Desert will live on in his offspring no doubt about that.
