Any thoughts on Mohaymen's sire potential? He won some early Derby preps and is half to BC Juvenile winner New Years Day. Fell off the map late in his 3-yr old year.

Got a nice pedigree . . .
That's probably what they're excited about. Not thrilled with race record.

Re: Mohaymen
Too many Tapit's to choose from, and he is small and didn't really mature past the early spring of his 3-year-old year.
Re: Mohaymen
Any sire suggestions in the $10,000 and under price range for a fairly bulky 16 hand Storm Cat line mare? Storm Cat line mares get an A+++ E-Nick rating with Tapit line stallions.
Re: Mohaymen
Mohaymen has a LOT going for him. Solid race record for dirt (winning in FL derby preps as a 2yo), superb bloodlines, right sire, He's got to be a good looker as he went to $2.2 at Kee mil as a yearling. Would have been nice if he went on, but they're not asking $100k. Great value IMHO - haven't seen him as an older horse. They'll breed some good ones to him at Shadwell.
Run the race - the one that's really worth winning.

yes
Re: Mohaymen
It might be interesting to take at look at Mr. Speaker a new one at Lane's End. He's bred on the same cross as Tapit.

Re: Mohaymen
Mr. Speaker has a great pedigree and looks good but all his best performances were on turf. The best from the mare's family are all dirt runners.

Re: Mohaymen
Tapiture - not sure if you are breeding to sell or breeding to race - but he sold well above his stud fee. If you get a goldmine nick of 20/20 - you get a 10% discount. Worth investigating.
Re: Mohaymen
Yes, we liked Tapiture so much we have a yearling by Tapiture out of this mare and expect another foal by Tapiture in early March. We wanted to try something different this year so we bought a season to Dominus. Dominus got off to a slow start but his AEI is outstanding and his stud fee is rising. He bred 140 mares last year. Hopefully, Dominus' numbers will improve with better mares.
Re: Mohaymen
I hope you intend to race the Dominus - there is not much love for him at the sales. I know the fee is lower than you asked but Trappe Shot at Claiborne seems to hit it off with Storm Cat. As someone said earlier here, there are So Many Tapits! How does one choose??

Re: Mohaymen
Agree on the sales numbers.
Re: Mohaymen
Dominus is starting to get some love at the sales. A two-year old colt by Dominus sold today at OBS for $400,000. See Hip #431. https://www.obssales.com/marresults/2018/
