High Fertility.

Postby jeff9061 » Thu Mar 21, 2019 3:53 am

Have a mare that I"ll probably get just one chance to cover. My question: Who are the stallions in KY that are noted for high fertility? The ones that will settle many/most mares on the first cover. I believe Midnight Lute is one example. Do you know of others?

I know of some to stay away from! But not as much about who may be a relative success at getting mares in foal on one cover.

Thanks.

Kitten’s Joy! I had a mare that didn’t ovulate after breeding, so I wanted to send her for a double. Ramsey Farm told me not to worry about it, that KJ is very fertile. She ovulated I think 6 days after breeding and lo and behold she was pregnant with one cover.
