Despite having sired Monomoy Girl, who has won well over 4 million dollars and many grade 1 stakes, Tapizar was only bred to 33 mares in 2020. Gainsway already has Tapit and his sons Tapwrit and Anchor Down, so I guess they felt that Tapizatr was expendable. Besides, they probably got a lot of money for him.

Interesting how money seems to completely rule these days. Maybe also they were not getting the "book full" in December that so many farms strive for.

In case some people here don't know, Tapizar never made it to Japan. Unfortunately, Tapizar died in a stall accident. So, Japan loses a stallion and Gainsway loses some money. Sad news.

BTW, Tapizar's 2 year old son, Quick Tempo, won the 75K Sugar Bowl Stakes at the Fair Grounds today.
