By My Standards to Spendthrift in 2022

Postby Shawklit Won » Tue Sep 28, 2021 5:48 pm

By My Standards is set to stand at Spendthrift Farm in 2022. He will still be racing until the end of this season, but will go to stud next year. No fee is set so far. He might be racing in one of the Breeders Cup races. If he is, then that will probably be his last race.

His sire is Goldencents. Should be interesting to see how he works out as a stallion.

Looks like he gets Cinco Charlie's stall who is no longer on the roster.

You probably know this, but there are three other new stallions at Spendthrift for 2022. They are Basin, Known Agenda, and Yaupon.

So, there may be a couple more stallions gone from Spendthrift by the end of the year. Too bad, but that is the game. Your first crop or two produces at the racetrack or they make room for someone else. Evidently, Spendthrift wasn't satisfied with Cinco Charlie, but he may hopefully find a happy home in Texas.

Yes it's a revolving door. The one's now at 5K may be gone soon if there's not enough interest by December IMO.

Seems they had over 300 applications to Yaupon which is why they priced him at 30K

I wonder what the demand will be for By My Standards?

HUGE because they will make deals via share the upside. That will guarantee two big books.
Does anyone know how profitable Goldencents is for those who are a part of their share the upside on him?

I asked because one of my friends owns a season. I found him a buyer for this year.
