New stallion potential

Postby dray33 » Wed Jun 29, 2005 1:03 pm

Just wondering who you all were looking at in terms of new sires, to throw off commercial, balanced foals who will both sell well at the sales AND win races.

Thoughts on why?

Okay .. those of you who've clicked "other" ... WHO?

Personally, I'm looking at Eavesdropper to do well.

For great good looks and sales potential, you can't beat El Corredor and Forest Camp. El Corredor has the later maturing classic pedigree, Forest Camp may put out fast youngsters for sprints. I hope Include can carry on for Broad Brush, but don't expect him to be commercial. El Corredor gets my vote.

I voted in the "Other" category for Songandaprayer. This was based mainly on seeing the stallion in person, his sales figures, and the indications of What A Song's performance.

I would probably second Sam that Eavesdropper is a sleeper, but ya'll know I voted other for Kafwain.

El Corredor gets my vote.
Watch for a colt names Objective to make his debut. By ElCorredor and is a half brother to Atlantic Ocean.

I picked other for Exchange Rate, but it's a sentimental rooting interest b/c I like the Danzig line.

I've been perusing the Fasig-Tipton catalogue and these two are page standouts:

Hip 47 Exchange Rate-Castle Mark
Hip 184 Exchange Rate-Mrs. Greeley

I voted Street Cry. Mainly because I loved him as a racehorse and I simply hope he will do very well at stud.

Has anyone seen any of his youngsters yet?

Bumblebee, I've seen maybe 6-8, including a filly that I bred and own. I saw the others at the Keeneland sale last Nov. so they probably weren't the best he going to have to offer. I'm really looking forward to see his yearlings at Fasig-Tipton in a couple of weeks.

He is not a half brother to Atlantic Ocean, his dam is a half sister to Atlantic Ocean, by Katowice.

There was 1 Point Given in the June 28th Fasig 2YO Sale. He worked a decent 36.4 at the under tack show.

He went for 18.5 at the Fasig sale. Not a great return considering PG first year stud fee. He looked like a 3YO, he was huge. I think the Point Given progeny will be better 3YOs if this horse is any indication of his first crop.
