Giant's Causeway-will he be as good as his sire Storm Cat?

Postby Keith » Mon Jul 11, 2005 5:59 pm

Giant's Causeway is already the sire of
1. Shamardal 7 starts 6 wins European Champion 2 year old and winner of the Prix du Jockey Club
2. Maids Causeway winner of the Coronation Cup and 2nd in the English 1,000 Guneas
3. Footstepsinthesand winner of Ultimatepoker.com Two Thousand Guineas
4. Noble Causeway 2nd in the Florida Derby.

Will he be as good as Storm Cat? He has a good start.

Keith, if you are a Giant's Causeway fan, check out the debut Saturday of First Samurai at Churchill Downs. There has been a lot of positive buzz about this horse and he won easily by 5 1/2 lengths.

Will Giant's Causeway be good dirt horses?

Postby Keith » Tue Jul 12, 2005 1:02 pm

Giant's Causeway can definitely sire good turf horses but he needs to sire good dirt horses to be compared to Storm Cat in the states. Noble Causeway is a good dirt horse. I am a big fan of El Prado because he gets good horses not breeding to the best mares in the world. El Prado has been bred to Baby Zip and he has a 2005 colt out of Heavenly Prize. As El Prado gets the best mares will he only get better? Getting back to Giant's Causeway First Samurai looks like a nice one. Giant's Causeway is a great horse and I am sure he gets the best mares and he is already siring horses that are winning the classics in Europe. Will he be as good as Storm Cat? Probably not but anything is possible. Is Giant's Causeway better than Montjeu? Montjeu sires the top 2 runners in the Epsom and Irish Derby and a runner up in the French Derby. Sadlers Wells stallions El Prado and Montjeu stallions both are dominating as turf sires along with Giant's Causeway a great racehorse and a beautiful son of Storm Cat.
