With Approval sold to Great Britain. Reactions? Comments? Awful nice stallion for his price range if you like to run on the grass.

He's been quite a nice breed-to-race sire; surprised that he would be on the move. Where'd you hear the news?

Blood-horse and Thoroughbred Times are reporting it and in fact the stallion is already in Great Britain. I was rather surprised too given his age.

Darnit... I wanted to send a mare to him! GRRR

I'm sure With Approval will have a good chance in Europe, and they sure need some outcrosses away from the Northern Dancer line. His foals don't get much respect here at sales time, and Brookdale has had lots of changes lately, with the death of Broad Brush, retirement of Crafty Prospector. And Silver Deputy is no youngster at twenty. They probably will be purchasing some young blood to rejuvenate their roster. I'm not convinced Newfoundland is their salvation, and Forest Wildcat is a sprinter.

Sorry, I goofed again. I knew Broad Brush didn't sound right. It was Deputy Minister that left the ranks of Brookdale looking a little bare.

Awful glad that his son Testimonial is headed out here to BC. It is a great line for solid sound running horses! With Approvals are really nice horses all around!

Excuse me while I pimp your stud Judith, but Testimonial has a lovely pedigree. He's by the aforementioned With Approval. His dam is a stakes placed stakes producer. His second dam is Battle Creek Girl, a multi-stakes producer. He made 47 starts, so he's obviously durable. Get on over there you crazy Canadians!

Pimp away !!! This dude is a nice boy. Cant tell you how thrilled we are to have him coming on over At 16.3 the hunter crowd is already raising some eyebrows . We shall see what happens

With Approval Sold to Lanwades in England

With Approval, for years one of North America's top turf stallions, has been acquired by Kirsten Rausing's Lanwades Stud from a syndicate for stallion duty. Nineteen-year-old With Approval, who formerly stood at Fred Seitz' Brookdale Farm near Versailles, Ky., already has arrived at his new home near Newmarket, England.

"We are naturally delighted to have acquired a proven stallion of With Approval's class, performance, and durability," Rausing said about the Canadian Horse of the Year and Triple Crown winner. "His excellent conformation and top-class pedigree make him an outstanding outcross opportunity, suitable for most European-based mares. It has long been my ambition to re-introduce the Grey Sovereign sire line to England, and I am thrilled to have achieved this."
Sired by Grey Sovereign's grandson Caro, With Approval has sired 42 stakes winners, plus the earners of $34 million, about half of which was earned by his grass runners.

With Approval's 16 graded or group winners include Canadian champion 2-year-old male Talkin Man, sire of last year's John Deere Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT) winner Better Talk Now. With Approval also is the sire of Italian champion Sajana and such North American graded winners as Thesaurus, Ok by Me, and Lasting Approval.

With Approval, who raced as a homebred for the Willmot family's Kinghaven Farms, won 13 of 23 starts and earned $2,863,540. Nine of his wins came in stakes, and his victory in the 1990 Bowling Green Handicap (gr. IIT) at Belmont Park came in world record time of 2:10.26 for 11 furlongs.

With Approval, who was produced from the Buckpasser mare Passing Mood, will have his fee announced later. He stood the 2005 season at Brookdale for $5,000.
