R.I.P. Strike Gold

Strike Gold was euthanized due to complications from old age in Claifornia. Sort of a personal one for me as he was the sire of Misty Golddigger.

hi austique

Billy Turner, who trained both Strike Gold and Seattle Slew, compared SG (in a complimentary fashion) to Seattle Slew to the extent that he said both would give you everything they had and would be willing to run through a brick wall in the heat of competition...if asked to.

SG also had a reputation for being not only tough and aggressive...but also dangerous...

...but maybe he mellowed as an aging stallion.
