Forestry at 100,000?
Just saw on the Blood Horse that Forestry's fee is now at 100,000. While I realize that they are free to charge whatever the market is willing to pay, does anyone else think this is way too high? He's a nice stallion; I think $50,000 to $60,000 might be more appropriate. Any thoughts?

I agree that this guy's fee seems way too high. For the high-quality book of mares that he's seen (CI = 3.29), his results (AEI = 2.02) are modest, at best. However, his progeny sell real well (average yearling so for this year sold for $290,000, with median of $250,000); I guess that's how they justify the fee.

Because GOD FORBID these damn stallions earn their stud fee the old fashioned way .. by producing REAL RACEHORSES, not these pampered moneyburners on toothpicks.
You mark my words .. we are 10 years away from a stallion ad that consists of "Sire was a $2.5 million 2yo in training, Dam sold for $6 million in foal" and all three of them are Unraced.

Amen, sister! Is the current logic now that all that matters are sales results? Why the heck are people so silly that they will pay a fortune for foals from a sire that has already proven he can't get the goods to deserve that kind of price? Forestry is lovely animal, but sheesh we're not breeding show ponies here.
On another hand kudos for Taylor Made on their management of Northern Afleet whose fee was raised to a very reasonable $20,000.
