A date with Prime Timber

Postby henthorn » Tue Oct 25, 2005 2:30 pm

Our first mating is set now for 2006. Hop to It will deliver her Petionville foal in NY and breed back to Prime Timber. They are outcrossed, and similar in phenotype. Her background is turf, distance, and she was a closer. Prime Timber was precocious, speedy, and could carry it over distance. Makes sense, as she's a difficult mare to figure for commercial purposes, and he is an improving first crop sire with a currently low stud fee.

Can you please elaborate on your opinion that Prime Timber is an up and coming sire? Do you expect him to develop into a more commercial horse? Not knocking your opinion...just curious!!

I understand his first foals are just hitting the track, and he already has several winners in fast times in New York. Sorry, I haven't checked the progeny lists yet for details.
