Purim

Postby TomFool » Mon Mar 13, 2006 11:21 am

Could he finally be that grandson of Roberto that can get the job done & keep his sire line going? You would have to think Dynaformer could sire (even though he has not, Blumin Affair is an ok regional sire) a significant son moreso than Silver Hawk, Red Ransom etc. Kris S has had somewhat mixed results & does have Rock Hard Ten going for him but I'm not 100% in his corner as a future leading sire but do think Purim is the individual & has the pedigree to fit alot of commerical & better pedigree mares of today. Thoughts?

just by checking the stallion page it seems Kris S is ahead of Dynaformer. Looking at Lord At War, he had a good number of black-type through many lines but in looking at the stallion pages he has no progeny that are commercial. I believe this pedigree will cross well with a lot of mares out there though, but will this guy be commercial?

I am watching Action This Day to see if he might be the Roberto torch carrier.

Nice pedigree but seems too stout to make it as a stallion in todays day and age. Also Dynaformer tends to get slightly coarse horses so commercially doubtful at the sales everybody wants that big chested quarter horse types.

There is no doubt Purim is not commerical himself, what I was stating is that he fits many commerical type mares & has shown me he has the versitility & ability to have a chance at stud. Action This Day, however I just dont see the appeal. He was a slow horse with no speed & his pedigree is full of distance turf influences.

I didnt really pay that close attention, you're right, ATD didnt do anything as a 3 or 4 year old. Steep price considering. I was looking at the distance turf in his pedigree, I guess thats why he's on my radar.
