Sh** I was thinking of the dam =) - yep, I have Laird's Honor not Laird's Cup (don't know where my head was). I think Royal Cup did pretty well at the track too. Honor is a pretty nice looking mare and probably would have done more at the track (won both starts I think) but then got splints and she was retired.

What mares are you talking about that you'd like to have?

Just wanted to say that I will be present at the sale and would be more than happy to introduce myself to anyone from this forum who might be in attendance as well. It might be nice to put a face to the avatar.

Did anyone else see where Mepache was given to a woman in OK to be retired and obviously will not go through the FTK sale?

The whole Fayette Farms consignment is no longer going through the ring. I dont know if the other mares have been placed yet, but they're no longer going through the ring.

What does "BID NOT PUBLISHED" mean? I've never seen that before :?

Was sorry to see my mare's half RNA'd at $26,000.

Hope things are going well Madeline!

We picked up an RNA hip 565 Cold Hard Dash. I knew going into the sale we were probably going to be able to get her which I was excited about. Her immediate family is a little weak but the back-class is great. She was also a super fast filly on the track. She was a complete speed ball that only got headed at the break once, and that was after a bad break. She's a big monster of a mare and has a ton of starch. Her foals should be fast if we keep her with speed stallions.

The other mare we bought was hip 378 Excuse Me Miss. She has an odd ankle from a training accident, but other than that she is gorgeous! She won a very contentious and packed MSW at Churchill Downs defeating 12 other very well-bred and trained fillies in her first and only start going 6f on the dirt. The family behind is thick with class even if the first two dams are a little light. She's a Claiborne bred and her dam has been throwing very good runners. Im expecting some blacktype soon. She has a short yearling Alphabet Soup filly on the ground.
