I was only thinking maybe a foreign market with a lot of turn racing might be intrigued, but I'm an optimist by nature, and you may be closer to the final price.

so much turf in that pedigree, may be on the new synthetic tracks?I loved Hagley had a mare by him many years ago,she was small but chubby and such a good mind...And Sassafras turf, theatrical turf(oscar daddy)and hill prince oh those nice Princequillo minds,Teddy(steeplechase),Turn-to(such beautiful mover)but wherever you look almost all old routers, handicap lines.he looks by the picture to be a well balanced individual, well made and size is a matter of fad...i like a well made, good mind individual that can run for years without much trouble(well.. i AM poor...)If i had the right mares and was closer i may have liked him for homebred to race...Hey Madeleine at $1500. i would buy him in a hearthbeat...he could retire in my barn, such illustrious family...like i need another horse...i should be tied...
The sport and industry survive not only because of the champions that are remembered forever but also because of the losers that are so easy to forget...

Shame that there's so little fit for a sire like Hap...... given the opportunity to produce pure turf runners, I'd bet he would get the job done.....how 'bout Committed (mare)....wow....super runner and producer. Hap reminds me a bit of Fastness..... all revved up with no place to go.
And DOWN the stretch they come!

I find the pedigree on hip 64 to be very intriguing.

ditto here Sylvie

If could come up with an extra $2k I'm sure I could find someone to stand him for me here in VA. There might be one less stall available in my barn though as that's where I would be sleeping for a while. It's supposed to get real cold this week...

Well it looks like Hap went for $6900 - or RNA'd there. Surprising to me. Budha, a Chilean G3 winner in the US, went for $1,000?

$6900 for Hap. I concur that's a little higher than I thought. His prime time is gone, but maybe he will get some runners on the turf from the few mares he bred.

Huh. It looked like the number in the display stopped at $6900 for Hap but the sales result page shows $7300. Still, it is four times what I expected for that fellow with his fertility problems, his age, and his height.

He would probably be a Very Good farm stallion for someone though, good for teasing, etc. You could get one heckuva nice sport pony from him with a Welsh pony mare.
