Starlight Bay--the Year in Pictures

Postby henthorn » Sun Jun 18, 2006 7:10 am

I've already shipped Starlight Bay this morning to sales prep in Kentucky, planning for September Keeneland yearling sale. Four Star Sales is the consignor, and it's the first time I've used them or Little River Farm at Versailles. I took pictures Friday of her, hadn't seen her up close for nearly six months, when she was a little hairy fat girl. What a difference six months makes! Here are pictures from various times in the past: April, August, December, January, and June 16th, '06.

I was trying to identify her in the field the other day, when she turned to walk toward the water trough. Seventeen other yearlings immediately stopped what they were doing and followed her without a word. Her mother Shake On It, and in the past brother Motion Approved and sister Wordplay had the same effect on other horses. Only her 2yo sister Stage Center is a follower, but she can sure run, and she's crafty too. She's in race training and coming along well. All those mentioned have pictures in the database. Can you tell I'm proud of Shake and her little band?!

I love looking at pictures that show a horse developing at various stages. It will be interesting to see how your filly turns out in September.

We have a filly going to the Sept. sale too. When I get time, I'll try to put together some pictures of her like you did with yours.

It's no wonder a good pinhooker can be profitable. He/she can imagine how the foal will develop beyond its ugly or awkward phases.

I have moved this thread to the General Discussion list. Sorry for any confusion.
