It is certainly going to be a SMALL sale. Anyone care to comment why Keeneland has them flowing for pennies at the end of a sale that is too large while F-T seems to get such small books?
But there are some LOVELY mares and I will be there anyway
I've got my new halters with plates, and oiled and softened everything. Been cleaning tack and packing already. We've got jackets with the farm logo.. Got my stall cards ordered. I will print out my sign out sheets this week. I'm taking my camera.. and a page from Paramount's book. Whoever buys one of these gets that cute thank you card with a picture of the horse they bought. This should be FUN! Does anyone have any tips for a first timer?
By the way, does anyone know if the consignor typically provides the auctioneer with "extras" to announce at the time of sale and if so, when? For example, the 3 year olds I have are all broke with 90 days plus saddle time. The males are gelded, wolf teeth out. The NY bred filly had three months actually training with a TB trainer.
Mine have been getting plumped, conditioned and shined for a month and a half or so .. the Skip Away looks AWESOME, his butt has finally filled out and No More Narrow on him, the motor is finally in place.
I'm planning on camping in the tack room we've been assigned. My neighbor has a big rig and will haul the horses in on the 8th (it's ONE trip for him, would be THREE trips for me with my 2-horse!) Gosh it feels a bit like heading off to camp! I hope people will come by for a chat, if nothing else.
