Midlantic Two-Year-Olds In Training

Postby KamiBrooks » Sun Jun 03, 2007 12:04 pm

Does anybody have any idea of when they'll put out a catalog for the FT sale at the end of June?

All the other 2yo in training sales left-overs. Might be a few diamonds in there though. This is the time of year where a 2yo starts to mature if they're a little behind.

Maven,
Could you identify any "diamonds" in this sale?

I only look at the fillies, but there's a Two Punch that is decent enough. I didn't pull a past sales on her so I dont know if she's been through the ring with no success. Very good female family behind her and Two Punch is a very consistent sort. Bred to be a good race horse. Pedigree is a little off-balance for me, but that isn't a HUGE thing.

The Montbrook filly comes from a very consistent line that gets good race horses. A very underrated family and an underrated sire. Would be a recommendation if it was a regional bred. But good enough in this sale.

The first Wiseman's Ferry filly has a good female family backing her. I've loved what i've seen by him so far. Salt Lake is shaping up to be a good bms as well.

Again, didn't pull a past sales history on them so just going on pedigree. The Two Punch if my first rec followed closely with these two.

On the colt side a couple may be worth a look, but this sale is always a bit scary. If either of these were sound in June of their two year old year wouldn't you run them or have sold them privately?

Hip 48- Theatrical/Stormy Squall

Hip 59- Salt Lake/Another Moment

Hip 81 might have some interest to a breeder. Pretty solid racing family on the female tail.
And DOWN the stretch they come!

I don't mean you have to run them right now, but have a plan to run them......both were bred to run a bit! I have always liked both sires, especially Theatrical, and the female side is solid.

Hi Folks,

This is a very rough sale. Not much in numbers or quality. A couple of years ago a Fusaichi Pegasus got some attention but only sold for $4,500 and that was more than he was worth.

I've bought some runners from this sale but any with pedigree or by better sires tend to be left overs that are poorly conformed and I can't remember one like these that ever panned out. I absolutely don't buy times at this sale rather I look at movement.
Good luck.

Regards,

Pete
