Holy Bull as broodmare sire? [Hi; 94]

Postby CurrentlyRed » Sat Aug 11, 2007 8:56 am

I'm not sure this is the right forum for the post, but what does anyone think of Holy Bull as a broodmare sire?

I'm looking at Hip #94 in this sale, Wonder Bull by Holy Bull out of Pure Vanilla. Not much of a race record & no foals of racing age, yet, but her family seems to like Turn To line horses (Vanlandingham & Temperence Hill, to name two) & there are a couple in the NY & MidAtlantic area I could breed her to.

Opinions?

What is the End Sweep horse? Filly or colt and how old? Broodmare or still racing?

PA Sale

Results of the last sale were in either the TB Times or the Blood Horse or both.

Let's just say it was once again a buyer's market.

We're sorry to have missed you, too. We had a 2-horse & would have been happy to take some for you temporarily 'til you got your trailer . . .except that neither of ours sold, so the trailer went home as full as it was when it left home . . .

I was shocked at the prices and no bids...I had thought after the May sale that this one was going to be a nice mid-level sellers sale. I am sorry that neither of yours sold. I cant believe a mare with a foal couldnt sell..you got to see the foal for petes sake!!! I started being tempted during the yearlings but kept reminding myself that I really didnt want to make the 5hr trip back and forth on Sunday.

Do you know if Breezewood sold #152..I was the underbidder on her yearling filly.

From reading the catalog there will be no November sale?

Imagine our surprise, too - we really expected this sale to be better than it was.

But the timing wasn't very good. No one wants to buy a broodmare this early in the year & the people who wanted to buy anything were looking at yearlings or horses of racing age -- and most of the potential buyers of racehorses were probably at one of the MidAtlantic tracks, since they scheduled the sale for a day all of them except Penn were running.

Does anyone anyone know if the yearling filly by Lion Hearted out of a Sultry Song (Sultryann or somthing) mare ended up selling?

I don't have the catalog in front of me so don't have a hip number.

However, we did like her....

Wondering if she was an RNA?

Thanks! 8)

Pokeyman,

She was Hip#39 and brought $9100...they didnt say she was RNA so I believe she sold.
