One Storm Cat sold for $50,000...and back to back Storm Cat fillies went for under $220,000. Maybe the market is waking up? :D

I think A.P. Indy is replacing Storm Cat in Storm Cat's lifetime... how embarrassing!

you can only fool the p ublic so long. you can only spend 2-3 million dollars for colts that can't win claiming races before you start to realize what's going on.

what's really going to be sad... the bath the people who are breading their commercial mares to him this year  ... better hope he comes up with a runner or two this year or it's gonna get REAL ugly.

i actually liked a couple of the storm cats.. the one by Serena's Song looked great and has a proven nick.

Uh, before you guys do your happy dance, know that they all had issues, especially two of the fillies we vetted ourselves. Also, his best are going in the ring tomorrow, not today. Indy also has better mares representing his foals for this sale.

Storm Cat will be fine in the ring. The Denebola colt was AWESOME.

Well, he's from a $$$-earning mare and it's a proven nick and his full and half siblings were successful--that's the kind of Storm Cat I could justify throwing money at if he looks good. The others, however... not every SC colt has golden ballz.

I wasn't that impressed with his movement. Probably her least impressive foal i've seen out of her at the sales.

It was good to see Mrs. Lewis buying again, though. Her son Jeff said they planned on a few more as well.

Is it my imagination, or did they just finish up a bit earlier than usual? I thought they were flying through some horses that deserved a little more time in the ring, and now it is 5:35 EDT, and they are done already! Perhaps I couldn't see on the video that people had indicated they were all through on that bid, but it seemed like they are spending less than 30 seconds on some horses that were in the $100,000s.

A lot of those real fast ones were RNA's, where the auctioneer ran up to the reserve and no live money stepped in. There were quite a number of outs today, so the day might have gone a bit faster.

Thank you, madelyn. I didn't consider the outs and there were quite a few today.

I left 20 minutes after it started. I knew I wasn't buying anything today and to be honest, I wanted to stick to that! I HAD to leave! lol

There was an article a while back that pointed out that after spending tens of millions of dollars on Storm Cat's for more than a decade Godolphin didn't have a single stakes winner from the bunch.

Maybe based on that they've stopped chasing Storm Cats?

I know they didn't buy any today, but I don't know if they were bidding on any of them even. We'll have to see what they do tomorrow but so far it looks like the Maktoums are staying away from Storm Cat's.

Gee whiz, can that really be true? Wow. If that was me buying them, I'd have had to stop after just one or two. He may have had a lot of stakes winners, but if I paid millions for even three of them and got zip out of it, I'd have to let someone else buy them. And they must have bought a lot more than three....

I think Fasao Sekiguchi learned his lesson.
