It's only a good buy if he pays for himself and the training and vet bills. Most TB's never pay for themselves or other expenses it takes to get them to the track. That's why "one" becomes precious!!!! This is not a game for the faint-hearted. 
And, whether he can go a mile or better, who knows until you give him a try. His bloodlines indicate he will but until he does you will never know.
