Miss Lodi-Stakes winner of over 340K Final Bid of 1.9 Million In foal to Storm Cat

Heres my question:

Why was she bred to A.P. Indy 3 years in a row?

Because Storm Cat was $500K back then

Is this a trick question?

Why not? (I have to admit I have wondered though not spent any time looking at people's thoughts going into why breed back and why switch? though if you look in the new Barrets Catalog Hip#425 http://www.barretts.com/Catalog/catjan08/pdf/425.pdf looks like a solid choice in sticking with the sire as each "result" is a "runner")

Anyones thoughts on this?

A lot of the old timers in the business say you can't prove the effectiveness of a cross unless it has been repeated at least three times. If that first AP Indy had been a Big Classic horse, the subsequent two would have made the mare owner look brilliant.

Madelyn,

I associate with a lot of old timer racers, guess I need to add old time breeders to my peer group.

None of them have raced yet. The oldest just turned three, and he RNA'd for $750,000 at Kee Sep, so they must have liked him. His name is Thrust.

Both of the previous co-owners were Lane's End clients, so I'm sure that had something to do with the stallion choice.
