Texas 2 Yr Old Sale April 1st

Postby Bid » Wed Feb 27, 2008 4:42 am

Anyone going? Happy to meet up. We'll be at the picnic tables outside. I'll be looking over the book this weekend. Anything catch anyone's eye? PM me for contact info. We're trying not to buy, but our filly is slated to run just prior to the sale. That performance could change our minds.

I'm selling two there but am not going. The weather up here in the Northeast is just too nice to leave at this time of year. One oddity that I noted is that they are actually selling a France-bred 2yo in Texas. Seems a little out of place, n'est-ce pas?

I'm selling #196 - a LA-bred Orientate colt and # 276 - a KY-bred Candy Ride filly. Don't you just love the luck of the alphabetic dam draw that throws you at the end of the sale? Both are pretty nice so I have some options. I've never sold at this particular sale before so really have little idea of what to expect.

Good luck with your two. I'll try to get by to see them. The French bred thing is kinda odd. I like the page though. I haven't been to the 2yr old sale here yet, so I'm not sure what to expect either. I am trying to keep my hands in my pockets, but that didn't work for the last 2 sales I've been to.

We set our first racing partnership that looks like it is going to sell out and then some, so we might be making the trip down there to find a few more!

Always happy to help Chuck  You weren't exactly a Saint yourself. I kept asking you to find something wrong with the one I was looking at. As it turned out I think we both did well.

Hey, will you all take a look at hip #19 if you are there when they breeze and let me know what you think?

I hope to be there for the tack show and can certainly look at #19. Will you make the sale Tuesday?

Thanks Bid. No, I won't be at the sale. Got two 2yr. olds here at the farm that haven't even been broken yet. Besides, my husband says it's cheaper for me to spend the day at Neimans than go to a sale. I can never seem to leave empty handed.

We will be looking for two 2 yr olds. This is our first auction, so any advice would be great.

SJ- My wife and I would be happy to meet and talk horse. As for advice, I'd suggest looking for some professional help like a trainer or agent. At very least you'll want to vet the horses you like in advance. That stuff costs money, but consider what it costs to keep a horse with issues. As we get closer to the sale we can all set up a meeting place. I'm trying to talk Chuck into going as well :D My filly should run that weekend so my schedule isn't set yet.

Nice page! I'd certainly look at her if I was shopping.

Ageecee, do you know her?
