This is what I had for the corresponding high rated Nicks. This sale looks like it may be a bit rough. We shall soon see, but its been disappointing getting these horses out.

I thought the sale was pretty good. No super expensive hips but good over-all numbers in my book.

For the day, 110 horses sold for a total of $15,734,500, compared with 126 horses grossing $12,182,000 at last year’s opening session. The average price was $143,041, up 48% from $96,683 in 2007, while the median price was $90,000, up 12.5% from $80,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 35.6%; it was 36% in 2007. Twenty six horses sold for $200,000 or more, compared with 14 last year.

Unreal. The Calder Sale (supposedly a "select" sale) got bombed in comparison. If it repeats tomorrow, the numbers will be exceptional.

Based on the results today the sale has been successful. There are a lot of horses going for more than they are worth down here. Good for the sellers, maybe not so good for the buyers. For selective buyers who cant afford to make mistakes its been pretty tough. The few we like bring too much, the few on the cusp have issues.

Yeah, the two fillies we bought have some issues and the one colt just needs time, hopefully.

Again though, good sale and atmosphere.
