OBS - any feedback?
After Day 2, the results look fairly weak. I was hoping to attend, but wasn't able. Does anyone who is there have any feedback? What are people saying?

Huge crowd of people there.
Lots of buying from interests that race in Puerto Rico.
The Korean's are back buying some as well.
New York breds are selling really well as there are quite a few people from racing stables that run in New York in attendance.
It's basically what you expect from this sale.
If you see something really well bred, or by a really high class stallion, in this sale don't expect it to go for much usually because a really well bred horse or a horse by a really high class stallion isn't going to be in OBS April sale unless there are some serious problems. As an example, on Monday, you saw a Posse colt sell for a $1,000 and the very next hip was a Proud Citizen filly who sold for $4,000. Later that day I saw a Smoke Glacken colt go for $5,500 and so on and so on. Even today there was a Storm Cat sold for $400,000. But $400,000 is actually really cheap for a Storm Cat especially now that he's slowing down and now that there won't be that many more of them.
No pedigree doesn't work that well either, even with a fast work. A Deputy Wildcat filly that worked an 1/8 in a bullet 10 flat RNA'd for $39,000 yesterday but it was a tribute to her work that the bidding even went that high because her catalog page is one of the worst you've ever seen.
But for what this sale is I think it's okay. Realistically most of these horses will be running in $25,000 maiden claimers, if not in their debut then very soon thereafter, and it just doesn't make any sense to spend much more than $20,000 to $25,000 on them.
