Yeah I saw that. Holy crap wasn't expecting to find that on Bloodhorse.com. Can we all pool our nickles and bring her home? I don't even know her value, and I can't imagine why Paulson would sell (well truly I can imagine but I just didn't think he would). I thought she was one of those that you keep and look at fondly in the pasture, whatever she produced, because she's just that special. I know people have prices even if they're high ones but wasn't she supposedly family?

Maybe Better Than Honors price brought dollar signs to mind.
A lot of decent mares brought good prices recently.

And if he can put a price of $7 million on a colt - what will Azeri be?
He is not his father.

Doesn't seem like a very good time to sell her, and he drastically overvalued her first foal, the $7.7-million RNA, an all-time record, at Kee Sep.

Word on the street (and by street I mean the information super highway that is the interwebz) is he's trying to establish a value and doesn't mean to sell. Not that he's leaked that or anything, it's just what I've been hearing from some folks. That's what he was really doing with Vallenzeri so it's not out of the blue as an idea. I also heard $15-18 million as an estimate of value. Those same folks also say it's hard to find value in a mare that expensive (esp if she hasn't had a foal race yet). Think about it, it took a few foals before Better Than Honour got that high. Unless of course they have some freakish premonition she's the next Personal Ensign or Toussaud based on Vallenzeri.

Can someone introduce him to a horse appraiser?

Interesting development in this saga. Will this bring 'real' bids on Vallenzeri now?

VERY interesting. I had a feeling something like this was going on.
