I saw this horse's breeze and thought he looked phenomenal. Seems to have star quality too.

I was a great fan of Got Koko and am happy to see her colt sell so well. He should have every chance to become a star now. I wish him all the best.

I think all of us TB racing fans/breeders in Texas feel a huge tug at our hearts regarding the recent loss of GOT KOKO so young in her broodmare career. When racing she epitomized the 'success' so many of us 'small interests' strive for. I am certainly glad - and not at all surprised - to see one of her offspring do so well.

May this colt race swiftly and safely in the months/years ahead.

Hi. I was just checking Got Koko's listing here and the colt does not appear under her progeny. Only Koko Pop (filly) is there. Who would correct this omission? Or do the site managers wait until the colt has a name?

Only named horses are permitted in the database.

A follow-up to above thread - it appears that at least some of this great race mare's "gifts" are being passed on to future generations (with some help, no doubt, from A P Indy ;>) -

First starter out of former Texas Horse of the Year Got Koko wins impressively at Belmont

5/8/2010

Despite a slow break and some traffic issues, a 3-year-old first-time starter out of 2003 Texas Horse of the Year Got Koko scored an impressive maiden win on May 8 at Belmont Park. Named Cocalero, the Kentucky-bred by A.P. Indy runs for Darley Stable. Cocalero is the first starter for Got Koko.

Bred by Eileen Hartis, Got Koko bankrolled $960,946 during her career to make her the all-time leading Texas-bred female earner and second overall to Groovy. Hartis sold Got Koko, a daughter of Signal Tap, as a yearling for $30,000. After racing for Aase Headley and Paul Leung, Got Koko sold for $1.5 million at the Keeneland November breeding stock sale to Jess Jackson.

Got Koko died in 2009 after foaling a Bernardini colt. She also produced a 2008 foal by Ghostzapper and a 2006 foal by A.P. Indy.

Just an observation, but he looks quite long through the pastern to me. Obviously not a deterrant for the buyer.
