Well the books arrived yesterday, so LOTS of reading to do. The very first horse in the sale is a First Samurai weanling that is half to our own Blazing Colours' OFFICER CHERRIE.

Hip # 2858 Mr. Hot Stuff, Colonel John's full brother, stakes placed would love to see him in PA........anyone interested in buying him and standing him here???? I think he'd do well as a breed to race stallion.

Been looking at the stallions being offered for some reason. I see Omega Code and David Copperfield are being "let go". CP West, Drum Major, Timber Reserve, and Birdbirdbirdistheword are there. One interesting one is #4071 Pellegrino.

I've always been intrigued by David Copperfield as a breed to race stallion...though certainly not for sprinting on the dirt! Will he be attractive for a regional market with turf racing?

This sale should be eye opening to track and see what market corrections are or are not the result.

I guess maybe he would, but me personally I'd rather start from scratch with a stallion prospect instead.

DC has very few foals... I don't see anyone wanting to pay much for him.

Omega Code still has a shot.

I have noticed many mares being bred to Wilko.... what am I missing? Yes he was durable and made over 2 million. But his race career just seemed to have so many losses. 3 for 29 I believe. So why so much business as an unproven stallion?

90% if his book were Adena mares. Adena, at their height, had like 800 mares. They have enough to go around to all their new stallions.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes that explains much. Well, I have some faith in them so perhaps he'll be a better sire than I think! But I'm not counting on it . . .

There are seven books in the set for this sale. Mine arrived via UPS in a box. I think you can call Keeneland Sales and have them send you the books. For a real "steal" I think you would concentrate on books 5, 6 and 7.
