I was going to run down there tomorrow but they scratched the horse I wanted. Just talked to Colleen Turpin Boyce who has a consignment. She said there was quite a bit of activity today; that the Craig Trust horses are bringing a lot of interest. She definitely thinks it's a buyers market.

I know people who are looking at the Craig horses but you do have to wonder how they decided who to sell.

Whoever said, "I sell the best and keep the rest" had never really been a breeder or owner.

Buyers should know that.

Well I am a breeder and an owner and that's my philosophy.

I breed every single foal with the hope of making a good racehorse and then I sell the ones that turn out the best--from a sales perspective--because they're the ones that bring the most money. The ones I keep to race are the ones that buyers don't want.

Now, Jenny Craig may have a totally different way of doing things, I have no idea. But in this game, you have to have a whole lot of money to be able to afford to keep your best.

I suspect after viewing some of the horses offered yesterday that Jenny Craig is selling her best stuff in Kentucky though.

I went yesterday just to see what was happening. Lots of people there and some horses even sold but everyone there knew this was a cull sale. Today will be even worse unfortunately.
