Fasig-Tipton Calder 2YO Sale

They held the first under tack show yesterday and times--worked into a strong headwind--were generally unimpressive. Slower, overall, than those for the OBS Calder sale two weeks ago (whose second work also faced a head wind.)
When that first sale failed to produce a seven-figure horse, articles about the sale placed a significant amount of blame on the slow works times. Agents for several of the big buyers were there early in the week looking, but went home before the sale took place.
I've never been one in favor of pushing 2YOs so hard so early in the year. And watching this as strictly an observer, it's interesting to me that slow times overall (with a good excuse) should be so discouraging to buyers.
I wonder if this bodes ill for the sale on March 1st.
