My two children have Hip#32..will put a pic up soon...he is one good looking boy and bred nicely on their budget....hoping they do well, God knows, they've been brought up in this crazy thoroughbred world...passing the torch and just praying they continue the journey.

You're selling your children?

(wish I'd thought of that.)

Well I'm past the child bearing stage so I wouldn't mind buying a few children, I've always wanted a filly though.

This thread did not make me laugh.

Just saying the words in that context is too much.

Ouch TBRace..if my kids were not adults I might have taken offense, but they can defend themselves..they did find the humor in the comments, and I believe that is how the comments were intended. For the record, I do not in any way support the sale of children. I also believe that none of the above posters support that either.

There were 1168 hips in this sale. Over 40% either RNA'ed or were OUT.

Only 59 fillys and 98 colts brought more than the advertized stud fee. This does not factor in cost to get the mare in foal, raise the foal, sale prep, and selling costs.

At least I didn't sell a Smart Strike filly on an advertized stud fee of $150,000 for $9,000 or the guy that sold a Smarty Jones ($100,000) for 5k. Ouch.

We sold 2 Canadian breds, one for 5x the advertized stud fee and another, that we though might be in our racing stable next year brought more than the stud fee. Thank God we sent these two down to KY instead of running them through the CTHS Sale. they probably would have brought $2,200 combined there. We should have sent all of ours to KY, they can actually appreciate depth on a page down there.
