Was reading an interesting article on the Aga man. Did you know that he has derived his wealth basically by people sending him money? Estimated at 200 million dollars a year coming in. Uses some of it for charity, but keeps the majority of it for his own use, including his tremendous horse operation and holdings.
Crazy freaking world we live in.

Actually, there are two fillies. They've got one word names, too, though.

I'd like Ebazan for a polo prospect. The Tiger Hill filly and Giant's Causeway colts both look like they'd go well over fences.

The Giants Causeway wouldn't act on the heavy winter ground over hear, my guess he will be bought by the (lesser) arabs or Hong Kong Jockey club for racing on firm going or dirt/poly.

And I find myself asking, why can't the A.K. just retire that boy to a nice pasture, geld him, and let him live out a happy life at A.K.'s expense. It is ok to breed crooked horses who should never be raced, but it isn't ok to humanely retire them so they don't get hurt AND actually absorb the cost????? Especially if people are sending A.K. all that money every year.
Am I the only one who is confused by this??????

To be fair, he IS gelded, thank goodness. And while it's pretty horrifying to look at, I used to know an off track TB gelding who was almost as over at the knees, but still managed to have a successful second career as a Grand Prix dressage horse. I always thought his rider deserved a medal every time she got on him, since I was convinced that his front end would just crumple beneath the added weight. ;) It never did as long as I knew him.

many years ago I had an open jumper of gradprix caliber with knees like that.I don't mind over at the knees,I am more afraid of back at the knees, they break all the time.
