Yeah, I'll agree... esp. based on this comment...

Many physical faults seem to be discounted if the size and mass are there. Sadly, I believe that the small breeder may be faced with using steroids if they want to compete in the sales market.

And if you don't want to go that route, what other choices does one have?? Very early cover date?? Picking a stallion whose offspring mature early...??

OK, out of ignorance... what factor(s) go into:
and a less than perfect scope (B+, not A)

If someone had time to look at the obssales.com site, I'd be curious to see some photo examples of what is considered "good-looking" yearlings (based on what seems to be selling)...

well I guess the questions is...what is the going size for a sales yrlg?

I currently have a yrlg by our stallion out of a 16h ish mare. Yrlg is 16h (just shy to be honest) and tapes at 1150#. She was a first foal for her dam and was born in late March. Yes at that weight shes a tank! Very big boned and a ton of mass not fat. She profiles like a 2 y/o good easy mover and very attractive. I only hope my Freud baby from this dam is equally as nice
Fins to the Left....
