Keeneland Sale--Anyone Else Shopping?

Postby LSB » Mon Sep 19, 2005 3:11 pm

My computer has been down for the last few days, but I'm finally able to check in again. Are any other Forum members at the Keeneland sale?

We were delighted to pick up two fillies, hips 1576 and 1930. Is anyone else shopping or selling? I'd love to hear about your successes.

LSB,
Congratulations, and best of luck.
I can't believe the pedigrees on these two. Had to blink to be sure that I was seeing correctly.

Thanks judi!

We were very lucky to be able to tap into a couple of foundation families. When the time comes, I think they'll make great broodmares.

Thank you, madelyn.

We've already named the first one. She's by Elusive Quality x Breakwater (by Boundary) and her new name is Ninth Wave.

sigh... never go to a sale with a checkbook... I got hip #4445 a totally adorable filly... felt so sorry for her that no one was bidding...

Later at her barn folks told me the Chester House babies were all bringing nothing. I don't understand that.. He was a terrific horse and out of Toussaud! He is deceased so is not going to set the world on fire, but for heaven's sake! Anyhow she is out of Gilded Thunderbird... now gotta thinktank for names.

LOL, madelyn, and congratulations!

I really liked Chester House, I would have been happy to buy something by him if things had worked out that way. Best of luck with your new filly!

Thanks!! I sold some horses on Friday... last night when I got home my husband jokingly asked if I had bought a million-dollar horse. I said "yup and I got her for two thousand." Once he got over the moment, he got excited and can't wait to see her today. He agreed, we sure can't raise one for that.
