quickest furlong--forestry colt

Postby Derring » Sun Feb 26, 2006 11:51 am

From the Fasig-Tipton site..........

" FORESTRY COLT DRILLS QUICKEST FURLONG AT BREEZE SHOW

A bay colt by Forestry drilled a furlong in :9.80 on Sunday during the first of two breeze shows for Fasig-Tipton's Calder selected two-year-olds in training sale to be held February 28 at Calder Race Course.

Consigned by Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds LLC, agent, the colt is the second foal out of the winning Unbridled mare Magical Masquerade, who is a daughter of multiple Grade 2 winner Nannerl and a half sister to multiple Grade 2 winner Magicalmysterycat."

Why?

I think this colt will be around. He will be one of the highest selling horses so he will make it to the track. He has a win early peidgree so he will be a contender in the early 2YO races this summer. I watched his work and I was very impressed. He moves like a rocket.

That 9.4 work is nice, but that TIZNOW working 20.1 today is what is MOST impressive. It is a world record i think.

Wow..20.1...I did not see the video for that. I hope they put it up on the website before Tuesday. I met Hoby at the Texas 2YO sale a fewyears ago. I know his wife did all the riding for him at that sale. Is that Lana on your horses in the video?

I actually like your Freud even though his workout(Feb 19th) was slower than the Yes Its True. He looks more like a classic 2 turn horse. I see the Freud coltcame back today and worked a full second faster. Actually both of your horses had great times today.

Congrats. Hopefully the bidding gets hot and heavy when your 3 step in the sales ring.

Good Luck on Tuesday.

Behaving Badly worked a 21.2 at the 2003 Fasig 2YO MidAtlantic sale. She took her time getting to the races but needless to say she is a very nice and fast filly.

Yes... Layna is on my three horses. She is a great rider. I too like the Freud. I didn't expect him to go 21.3, you see he is a big strapping colt, and a May foal to boot! The Include filly was the fastest filly in the sale at 1/4 mile, she is just beautiful. Hoby and his wife are incredible horsemen, I am excited, and just hope mine do well in the ring.

I love to see racing and taking part in it with four five and six year old fully matured horses gooiing ten furlongs, that,s my game

Well the Forestry colt that everyone was so concerned about just sold for a new world record: $16,000,000.
