Jessi-she was moved from one barn to another which involved a 20 ride and nothing happened.
LKR-we have no idea whats impacted-I had just bought her and only had her 4 days when she colicked-I have no idea of her history before she came to me altho I am finding out some not-so-nice things. I called the lady I bought her from to see if she could provide me with Dixie's health history prior to me getting her and she has not answered nor returned my calls. I have also found out that she was not the owner or trainer and is not being allowed to train at Penn National.
Dixie is passing small amounts of manure, not as much as we like. I will try and keep everyone updated......

I'll pull my geldings vet records when I get home tonight. He was hospitalized for almost the same thing over a year ago and I know they used the standard treatment of iv fluids, banamine, and tubing with mineral oil. I'm almost positive they gave him something else too but I'd have to look and let you know. His ordeal lasted almost two weeks and involved a major university and a major equine surgery/vet clinic (and he's completely fine today) . I'm sorry you are going through this with your filly.

Ok. I just checked his records and they gave him lidocaine with his iv fluids and banamine. PM me if you want any further details. Best of luck to you and your girl.

Continued good thoughts for your girl, Camp. So sorry the woman you bought her from isn't being more helpful - that has to be very frustrating for you. Sending more good thoughts and prayers for your mare and lots of HUGS for you. Please keep us updated as you can. All the best!

Crystal I have actually heard of trainers giving their horses an egg a day - sort of like adding a pint of Guinness (sp). :) For picky eaters I do like to add some apple cider vinegar to their ration - they seem to like the taste.

I recommend a sprinkle of epsom salts in the coffee of someone who you think needs a good "purge" to sweeten them up! I am sure you get my drift.
