Bucked shins

Postby wgc517 » Sat Jun 10, 2006 8:38 am

How big of a problem is it for a 2yo in training. I am looking at buying a 2yo colt that is having some shin problems. Is it something to stay away from totally or is it manageable if I like the colt?

It is managable, there are many horses that have sore shins and most that I have known where 2yr olds. I would ask your vet what he recomends, but most common is pin firing the shins. I have a 5yr old Gelding that came to me with pin fired shins and I have never had a problem with his shins being sore and he runs like that!
