help baby through fence

Postby tammysinnett » Mon Jun 12, 2006 11:50 pm

Our three month old filly was spooked and ran through a fence that was woven wire (with the boards) she missed the board but she was hung up with her rear leg --took wire cutters to get her out. The vet was here, wrapped her leg no tissue to stitch---limited swelling--she is walking on it---all shots have been given and she is on penicillen. what do I need to do for her in the next few days??? how can I keep her from scarring badly?? and what can I do to help her heal properly?? I wasn't here with the vet my husband was --so anyone if you can offer some good advice she is so beautiful I can't believe this!!!She would have been a beauty to show!!! urrrrrrrr We put up markers on the fence and everything to prevent this and it still happenend!!!

Run water on it if she'll stand and honestly I've really found that SuperGreen linament will take down scarring a bunch.

Cold water and limited turn-out, if she were mine.

Best wishes to her and you.
