I am wondering if anyone would place any value in having a private lay-paddock with continuous video feed available over the internet.
Basically it would be a private barn (w/stall & storage areas) and paddock ranging from 1/2 - 1 acre. The video would be accessible over the internet 24/7 by anyone that the boarder provides a login to. The video would be LIVE/broadband video (not 15 min snap shots).
Would this concept attract anyone?
How much additional $/day do you think people might be willing to pay for the video monitoring?
The paddock can be used for what ever pupose (recovery, lay up, etc). Unfortunately, it is in Ohio, so not likely to be attractive for broodmares.
Any input public or private would be appreciated.

Kami there are a few larger racing stables who do offer video feeds of their horses stalls. Persoanlly I pay some pretty hefty day rates when my mares are gone and for that I expect things to be done without my having to look over their shoulders. If I cant trust them then my horses simply dont need to be there. But I could see where an owner might get peace of mind by being able to see their horses in a regular basis.
I'm in Ohio as well and these cheap bastards wont pay a decent day rate for boarding (no matter what the quality) let alone pay for a video feed up link. Hence therefor I no long board outside horses or breed in the Ohio program.

Sign me up! I'd love to be able to keep an eye on my horses. Don't think the farm I'm at would like it though
As for daily cost...you should figure what it will cost you to do it, then charge accordingly. Also, perhaps you could offer the borders the "option" to install their own.
