You can get the herbs in this formula at your herb shop and your health food store. Try the internet by searching for herbs.

Shepherds purse works extremely well too. Also available at a healthfood store. CKR powders work well too. Traileze makes that...

We were using a chinese herbal remedy that came in a small vial and was given mixed with water in a dose syringe. I wish I knew the name of it, but I don't read Chinese.

Take the herbal bottle to a chinese herb shop and they will tell you what the make up of the formula is.

Anyone--

I've read that HUNAN PAIO may be very helpful for bleeders. Reportedly, it is (was) used by Chinese/Korean women to treat heavy menstrual flow, and to stop bleeding from battle wounds in the Korean War. If true, that should be strong enough to work on any race-induced bleeding.

I've searched the web with no luck; again, I was told that only Chinese/Korean pharmacies or delis carry the stuff. Any thoughts?

As with any herb, you must ask the vets if this herb tests positive.
Many of the herbs do test positive, if you can find an oriental vet that will be your best route here.

Michael,

I believe that's it. We had to go to a Chinese supermarket in Oklahoma City to get the stuff. I have an empty box somewhere and it does not test. We used it on a light bleeder who had bad reaction to Lasix and to back up horses on Lasix. I gotta find that box!

Very interesting... do you feed it, brew a tea and dose the horse or what?
