Just out of curiosity has anyone had a tb with curly hair? One of my mares Seaven Teares(Aljabr x Luth De Crystal) has a very curly mane. Her tail is strait but her body hair is even a bit curly when she has her winter coat. I haven't run across any other tb with hair like hers and just wanted to see if anyone else had, maybe it's a genetic thing....

My immediate thought was perhaps she has cushings but at only 5 yrs. of age that seems highly unlikely

I have seen some horses with wavy manes but never on their coat. Do you have any pics of her?

Not the best picture I've ever taken

She only gets the curly hair on her body during the winter and it's always just on her sides, but her mane and especially her forelock are always curly. I'd have to pull out the old straitener to get it to look like all the other girls in the barn.

It's not a problem it's actually pretty but I just wanted to see if anyone else had run across another one.

How cute... yes, I've had plenty like that. Once you get the dead, sun bleached ends off, it may straighten out for you.

My colt has something similar, his tail is a mass of long ringlets. 5 minutes after it is combed out it is back to curls. And when he gets wet, his coat looks wavy.
His mane is pretty straight, nothing like yours.
