Foal with "traumatic Joint"

Postby bfinellc » Mon Jun 30, 2008 5:07 pm

I have a foal that was either kicked or got rolled on and has a "traumatic joint" in her right front shoulder. The farm in Kentucky says she's now at about 85% and that she has arthritis but "don't give up on her just yet." Two months ago she looked like a tripod standing on three legs. She has been on antibiotics now for over two months and is not completely healed. Will she ever? Is there anything out there that can help her develop into a "sound" racehorse or will she always have problems? Would OCD pellets or CalDensity help? How about products like Cosequin?

Thanks!
