I've seen a few TB farms with Round pens for turn out while cleaning stalls etc. I had looked into the hot dipped galvanized ones that are available in ht's of 6' 2". I like the fact they can be moved around from one spot to another.
Are these tall enough for a 17 hd stallion if set up well? I am considering an 80' diameter size.
Also if anyone has a contact that sells these let me know. The closest ones I have found are in Ky. We live in Missouri, near St. Louis.

We have neighbors that feel all stallions should be gelded...that is unless they are breeding 100 mares per year.As this...in their minds is unfair to the stallion??
They fear him getting to their Paso Fino's and Fox Trotter mares. So I was looking into the taller panels. A friend of ours that has been breeding and showing Saddlebreds for 52 years ( yep, 87 and still trains/rides his own horses.. 3 and 5 gaited) said to get panels that he couldn't get his neck over down to his shoulder? I'm just trying to buy these once, not have to go back and make a second purchase.... But thank you for your point..I understand what you're saying.

I have not used solar power but see no reason they will not work as long as the sun shines..
I do prefer ribbon wire as it's easier for the horse to see.
hot wire has a lot of other advantages. One fenses don't get leaned on or eaten.. Most of all horses of all ages quickly learn to respect a fense which can keep them out of a lot of trouble. And they do no damage. When I was a kid we used to see how had the testicals to grap and hold a hot wire the longest.. The trick was not to stand in mud.
