Daily Dewormer

Postby CountRaja » Sat May 02, 2009 7:54 am

I'm thinking about starting my horses on a daily dewormer.

Any pro/con opinions on Strongid C or Continuex?

If you do use it do you also have your horses on some form of probiotics?

Thanks!

Its probably not quite that simple, but that is my feeling as well. I won't use the stuff.

I've used Continuex for a few years now. I started b/c I could never seem to get 'ivermectin' written down to stay consistent with the program. Calendar in the house? calendar in the tackroom? where's the pen in the tackroom? Which week was that I gave...? Then it was buy X qty for cheaper and then oops bought too far ahead and now have exp'd tube of ivermectin. I hate throwing things away. Anyway I started noticing tails looked nicer around the base, hair grew in fuller. I never saw any tail rubbing. I forgot to order once etc and I started seeing prickly hairs around the base of her tail again. Fecal negative, nada. I started using it faithfully. It's easier, order pail of vits, pail of continuex. I use Equitrol daily too May-Oct. For my situation, my horses, it works.
