Quarter crack repair

Postby Inyureye » Tue May 26, 2009 4:37 pm

Maybe folks have seen this before, but I thought it was interesting so I thought I would post it here. The horse in question in the vids goes on to win his race three days after the repair. If I had a quarter crack, this would be my solution (below).

The quarter crack gets dremmelled out with a polyeurethane repair with a special shoe with good padding. Here's part one, then part two. After viewing these, you can get a pretty good idea not just of this particular solution, but of the kinds of solution you really want to pursue once you start getting some responses and other ideas from folks willing to do the repair. It will give a person a starting point for asking questions of your vet and blacksmith, and if you don't get the responses you lilke you can start looking elsewhere for the right people to do the job.

He literally rebuilds the wall, and the second video is very illuminating. You get a before and after at the end of vid 2
Some people are like slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs.
