I got a leather halter from Chick's in the early 90s. It was $19.99 then, with nameplate. For the price, it was pretty good quality.

Will do. I have one mare that breaks halters so low priced leather halters that are good quality is nice, so fingers crossed!!

Halters came and am pretty happy except the sizes seem to be off. I believe they are all the same size even though I ordered a cob for one of my brood mares and one for my QH. I think what they do is give a smaller crown piece and they mixed a few sizes up. My stallion has a big ole head and fits and looks great on him except the crown piece is the wrong length. They should make them longer so one can adjust.

But they are nice and the name plates look very nice. Would definaltly recomend!!

I think if you complain they might send some other crowns out to you...
