I've got two solar fence chargers. The older one is hooked to the string-type line and is ok to use to keep them off the existing permanent fence. My new one i paid about $150 for and it uses ribbon line and i guarantee you cannot hold onto it when it is charged. I made the mistake of thinking it was turned off and touched it and it nearly knocked me down!. The horses ran through it one time when they were first introduced and never again. I recommend you buy a big one from the farm store. Walmart isn't going to have anything adequate I wouldn't think.

Whats the name of your newer one.
-- We had to go to walmart to get a battery because the unit that we bought and thought that had a battery inside. But it didn't. It needed a marine battery
