I posted in the foal watch section but did not get any response so trying here.
Our first foal of the year was born just after midnight June 2nd. Huge sorrel filly out of our Hurry Home Helen mare. She was born with legs I have never seen before, LONG!! her cannon bones are so long.
She is very low in the back pasterns and was in the front but have straightened up in the front.
I am just learning today after some research she is "Windswept" because her hind legs sway as she moves to one side.
I have read a lot on this and most everything I read said she will grow out of it with in a few weeks.
Anyone here have some input on both sides? Anyone have to go the surgery route?

first, give an E-Se shot, 1cc for now. Keep her in a confined area for a couple of weeks. Evaluate her then, I am sure you will notice a great improvement. If needed, you could give her another E-Se shot and put her out in the pasture at that time. Each one differs, but it will correct itself, normally. Keep us posted. Have had one severe case of this over the years and he turned out perfect.
