Gnats, Gnats, Gnats

We have a heavy infestation of gnats this year. What can a person do to kill the little buggers? I am putting up bug zappers which would fry the little buggers if they would get to them. Is there something that will draw them?? to the zappers, or will they just go to the light and get fried?? on account of cuz?

I had a horrid earwig problem in late May-June. They hide under mats and come out after dark. Every night when I went to close up the barn I'd turn on the lights and things would start dropping from stall doors, walls etc. I would spend 30 minutes stomping them. It was disgusting. I'd spray Raid right on them and they wouldn't die. I finally called my pest control guy that does our house. He sprayed a barrier and the next day there were dead earwigs everywhere. Sometimes it's easier (+cheaper) to just call a professional.
